Refund & Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your paper goods. If something isn't right, you can return most items within 14 days. This policy explains how returns and refunds work and your statutory rights.
14-day return window
You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your order. To be eligible, items must be unused, in their original condition and original packaging, with any seals or shrink-wrap intact.
Non-returnable items
For hygiene and product-integrity reasons, the following cannot be returned once opened or used:
- Notebooks, pads or journals that have been written in or marked.
- Refill paper packs, index cards or tab packs with a broken seal.
- Items returned damaged due to misuse or normal wear after use.
We do not currently sell personalised or custom-printed goods. If personalised items are offered in future, they will be clearly marked as non-returnable except where faulty.
How to start a return
- Email support@johnstonesons.shop with your order reference and the items you wish to return.
- We will reply within 2 business days with a return address and instructions.
- Send the items back in protective packaging within 14 days of approval.
Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect. We recommend a tracked service; we cannot refund items that do not reach us.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you the outcome. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method (Stripe or PayPal) within 5–10 business days. The original shipping charge is non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
Refunds are processed in USD; your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If you receive a faulty, damaged or incorrect item, contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos. We will provide a free replacement or a full refund including any shipping you paid. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Cancellations
If your order has not yet been dispatched, email us and we will cancel it and refund you in full. Once an order has been dispatched, please follow the return process above.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations or other applicable consumer protection law. Consumers in the EU, UK and other regions may have a statutory cooling-off period in addition to the policy above.
